Role includes developing players, coordinating with athletic leadership, and ensuring academic standards and sportsmanship. The ideal candidate will guide freshmen through skill development and compete in the varsity program with collaboration across coaches.

Qualifications

• Coaching at high school or college level preferred.
• CPR and First Aid training completed or enrolled.
• Prefer experience as teacher or LCPS classified employee.
• Prefer Virginia Teaching License candidate or LCPS employee.

Responsibilities

• Maintain high academic standards for student athletes.
• Assist AD and principal in hiring/retention of assistants.
• Direct, supervise, and regularly evaluate assistant coaches.
• Ensure proper insurance coverage for athletes.
• Coordinate with head coaches for a balanced program.
• Foster sportsmanship and pride among participants.
• Oversee training and performance of varsity team and staff.
• Be present at varsity contests and supervise JV/Freshman events.
• Advise on schedules and official evaluations.
• Recommend equipment and manage inventory.
• Inform on facilities needs and maintenance.
• Ensure eligibility lists are prepared and current.
• Assist recruitment of support staff; collect records.
