Job summary

Merrimack School District is seeking a Boys Freshman Basketball Coach to educate students through interscholastic competition, fostering academic success and character. Qualifications

• High school coaching experience preferred (varsity or JV).
• CPR and NFHS certifications preferred.
• Knowledge of coaching techniques and NHIAA rules.
• Ability to instruct, lead and supervise student athletes.
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Coach will assume team leadership and be accountable for team culture and conduct of staff and players.
• Establish core philosophy, skills, and techniques for the coaching staff.
• Manage and supervise activities to promote growth, teamwork, discipline, respect, and sportsmanship.
• Adhere to injury procedures established by the Merrimack Athletic Department.
• Coordinate with feeder programs and youth leagues to maintain unity.
• Set performance criteria and regularly evaluate athletic abilities (stats, film, etc.).
• Protect student athletes, equipment, and facilities; ensure safety.
• Oversee student eligibility for extracurricular participation.
• Schedule competitions and coordinate travel, facilities, camps, and events.
• Accompany and supervise student athletes during competitions; teach NHIAA rules.
• Apply disciplinary measures and promote sportsmanlike conduct.
• Maintain open, professional communications with students, parents, staff, and media.
• Support participation in other activities and align expectations seasonally.
• Maintain inventory of uniforms and equipment; comply with policies.
