Job summary

California Sports Center in San Jose is seeking a team coach for gymnastics at competitive levels. This role can be part-time or full-time and involves leading a boys' competitive team, with potential for recreational and development classes and evaluations at CSC.

Hours are 15-25 per week, afternoons, evenings, weekends, with travel for competitions. Pay ranges from $18.45 to $28.00 per hour, commensurate with background and experience, with additional pay for session-based competitions and

Qualifications

• Background in child-related services or youth sports coaching.
• Former competitive gymnastics and coaching experience is required.
• High energy, positive and supportive, excited about working with kids of all ages and levels.

Responsibilities

• Teach/coach kids and spot skills as required for levels.
• Develop safe and developmentally appropriate learning.
• Develop gymnasts at all levels with event-specific responsibilities.
• Create lesson plans tailored to each group/level.
• Assist with equipment planning, safety, and cleanliness.
• Communicate regularly with students, parents and staff.
• Maintain skill cards and progress reports for each group.
• Attend trainings and review 'Team' documents annually.
• Other duties as assigned.
