Job summary

Responsibilities include supervising athletes, managing equipment, adhering to WIAA and district rules, and maintaining accurate records. Requires high school diploma, coaching experience, and certifications in First Aid, CPR, and AED.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or equivalent and some coaching experience.
• Must be at least 19 years of age (WIAA regulation).
• First Aid, CPR and AED training are required; Lifeguard safety training also required for swimming coaches.

Responsibilities

• Supervises student athletes to promote effective student learning through participation in athletic activities.
• Assists the head coach in preparing athletes physically and mentally for contests; administers discipline when necessary; emphasizes safety.
• Oversees practice sessions, teaches fundamental skills, promotes sportsmanship, and abides by Coaches’ Handbook regulations.
• Follows district procedures for handling injuries.
• Oversees equipment issuance, maintains records, ensures return of equipment, and conducts weekly safety checks.
