Boyle County High School in Danville, Kentucky seeks a Boys Basketball 1st Assistant Coach to support practices, coach players, and assist in coordinating the game schedule and transportation under the Head Coach.

The part-time position requires a high school graduate, willingness to complete CPR/AED training, and a commitment to teaching sportsmanship, discipline, and student development in line with KHSAA rules.

Competenze

• High school graduate and 21 years of age as detailed in KRS 156.070(f)(2).
• Fundamental knowledge of basketball, health and safety regulations associated with the sport.
• Coaching experience preferred.
• Willingness to complete CPR, AED and other required training.

Mansioni

• Help plan, organize and supervise practices and competition.
• Teach individual fundamental skills, team play, team strategy and rules and regulations of the game, while also teaching good sportsmanship and self-control.
• Coordinate with the Head Coach to facilitate key team functions, including tryouts, practice schedule, game schedule and transportation needs.
• Assist in checking eligibility of participants medically, academically and secure appropriate parental consents.
• Provide student athletes a proper role model, emotional support, patience, a friendly attitude and general guidance.
• Recognize student differences in needs, abilities, and interests and modify coaching strategies so that these differences are met.
• Assist in recommending the purchase of equipment, supplies and uniforms as appropriate for the health, safety and welfare of student athletes. Strict adherence to the guidelines and processes for procurement and purchasing with district funds.
• Carry out other professional responsibilities including punctuality, reliability, care of equipment and materials, planning, communication, confidentiality, and following district and school policies.
• Complete coach-related training as required.
• Strict adherence to the Policies and Procedures of the Kentucky High School Athletic Association.
• Strict adherence to the Policies and Procedures of the Boyle County Board of Education, the Employee Handbook, Code of Ethics for Certified School Personnel and Kentucky Revised Statutes.
• Fulfilling contractual obligation of the position.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
