Job summary

Plymouth-Canton Community Schools is seeking a Boys Assistant Basketball Coach for Canton High School. This role begins in the 2026/27 winter season and reports to the Assistant Principal of Activities and Athletics.

Local coaching duties include organization of the sport, equipment management, and season summaries. Must be a high school graduate with coaching or high-level playing experience, able to work with families, and CPR/First Aid trained preferred.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Experience in high school level coaching or playing at college or university level in the sport.
• Applicant must have a time schedule compatible with that of the high school.
• CPR and/or first aid training preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to work with parents and children.

Responsibilities

• The assistant coach will be responsible for the entire organization of the sport to which he/she is assigned.
• The assistant coach will be directly responsible for all equipment in his/her sport. A complete inventory of all equipment will be filed with the director at the end of each season.
• The assistant coach will be responsible for all awards presented in his/her sport and a season summary.
• Bending, lifting, and overhead work required.
• Performs other tasks as assigned.
