Job summary

WM is seeking a Medical Waste Route Driver to service assigned accounts with top-tier customer service. The role involves transporting waste between WMHS or customer locations to transfer or processing sites, using cameras, ELD and GPS in company vehicles.

Routes are planned daily with scheduling varying by route day. Essential duties include safe pickup, loading and unloading, paperwork accuracy, DOT log compliance, and ongoing communication with supervision to resolve issues.

Qualifications

• 0-1 years of experience, preferably in driving Box Trucks and route management
• May require immunizations and credentialing based on customer requirements
• Valid Driver’s License
• CMV drivers must be able to obtain a medical card

Responsibilities

• Manages assigned routes ensuring customers’ waste is picked up in a safe, timely and accurate manner
• Pick up and transport waste safely according to all federal, provincial, and local rules and regulations
• Plans daily schedule based on customers’ needs by reviewing daily paperwork
• Follows routing software route schedule
• May prepare and load trucks to service select accounts for the day ensuring enough supplies are added
• Unload trucks at WMHS and customer sites; secure waste
• Provide the highest level of customer service to assigned accounts daily
• Ensures waste, supplies, and material handling equipment are secured prior to operating vehicle
• Completes paperwork legibly and accurately; DOT Driver Log if applicable
• Communicates changes to route pickups to supervisor/dispatcher
• Performs pre-trip and post-trip maintenance; uses ELD/Geotab to log hours
• Perform other duties as assigned
