Job summary

Townsend Building Supply, a division of Carter Lumber, is seeking a Delivery Specialist to transport orders to customers in a safe, timely manner and provide excellent customer service. You may also help in the Yard to meet weekly hours when deliveries slow down.

Qualifications

• Delivery experience preferred with building materials, furniture, appliances and other large items that need to be handled with care.
• An acceptable driving record (state licenses may be required).
• Familiarity with building materials and delivery equipment is preferred.
• Ability to be a team player.

Responsibilities

• Transport orders to customers in a safe and timely manner using a company vehicle.
• Provide friendly and professional customer service during deliveries.
• When deliveries slow down, assist in the yard to reach weekly hours.

Description

As one of our Delivery Specialists, you will be responsible for transporting orders to customers in a safe and timely manner using a company vehicle. You will ensure that daily delivery schedules are met while providing friendly and professional customer service. If deliveries slow down, you have the opportunity to help in the Yard to ensure you reach your weekly hours goal.

Requirements

• Previous delivery experience, preferably with building materials, furniture, appliances and other large items that need to be handled with care
• An acceptable driving record (some states require a chauffeur, class C or class D license)
• Familiarity with building materials and delivery equipment is preferred
• Ability to be a team player
