Position Summary

Responsible for driving the mobile vehicle and transporting the mobile staff in a safe and efficient manner. Must demonstrate competencies and work efficiently to achieve collection goals at each mobile location while following all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and departmental policies.

Responsibilities

• Transport staff, equipment, and supplies according to SOP.
• Drive company vehicle safely.
• Load, unload, set up, and tear down equipment at mobile sites.
• Pack supplies and equipment for mobile drives.
• Prepare blood and specimen tubes for transport and storage.
• Keep a tally of units of blood and clots donated at mobile sites.
• Greet and treat donors and co-workers with respect and courtesy.
• Conduct donor registration.
• Convert eligible donors to Double Cell collections.
• Follow work rules and procedures to ensure safety and efficiency.
• Report donor reactions or incidents to the Team Leader.
• Assist with donor reactions at the refreshment area.
• Escort donors, especially at high schools, and assist with reactions to ensure safety.
• Attend departmental meetings and training, participate in new methods and techniques.
• Assist with delivering supplies or personnel to blood center events or mobile sites as needed.
• Perform Automated Lot Release responsibilities when required.
• Perform other duties as assigned within scope.
• Adhere to all regulatory and compliance requirements.
• Follow all standard operating policies and procedures.

Qualifications

Education

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Experience

• Experience driving professionally required.
• Prior healthcare experience preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Medical knowledge to determine donor suitability and attend to safety and quality control as per SOP and regulations required.
• Basic computer skills required.
• Ability to produce reports, documentation, and communication using provided resources required.
• Ability to manage resources effectively to optimize value and reduce costs required.
• Good organizational, decision-making, and interpersonal skills required.
• Strong understanding of policies, protocols, and regulations required.
