Responsibilities

• Safely operate a box truck, including manual transmission vehicles, on local and over-the-road (OTR) routes while complying with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) standards.
• Load and unload freight with proper manual handling techniques, ensuring cargo is secured according to logistics cargo handling protocols.
• Navigate using GPS systems to follow optimized delivery routes, adjusting plans as needed for traffic or road conditions.
• Deliver freight efficiently to various destinations, including refrigerated trailers or specialized equipment such as flatbeds or tankers when required.
• Handle hazardous materials (hazmat) and dangerous goods following hazardous materials regulations and safety procedures.
• Maintain accurate delivery documentation, logs, and reports in compliance with DOT regulations.
• Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after trips to ensure safety standards are met; report any maintenance issues promptly.

Experience

• Proven experience in commercial truck driving, delivery driving, or route driving with a focus on freight transportation.
• Familiarity with refrigerated trailers, flatbed trucks, tankers, or tractor-trailers is preferred.
• Knowledge of FMCSA regulations, hazardous materials regulations, and DOT compliance requirements.
• Demonstrated ability to load & unload cargo safely using manual handling techniques.
• Experience with GPS navigation systems and route planning for efficient deliveries.
• Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with appropriate endorsements for the type of vehicle operated; experience with manual transmissions is a plus.
• Prior delivery driver experience involving freight movement across multiple locations is highly valued.
