Job summary

Dufrene Building Materials Inc is seeking an Experienced Chauffeur's Driver to deliver lumber, building materials, millworks and other merchandise to customers on site and at other locations. You must be at least 21 years old with 5 years of driving experience and a valid Class D license with a medical card.

Responsibilities include planning efficient routes, loading and unloading, delivering to correct addresses with signatures when required, and maintaining delivery logs.

Qualifications

• Valid Class D driver's license, current medical card, and clean driving record.
• 5 years driving experience preferred.
• Must be at least 21 years old and able to operate GPS/maps.

Responsibilities

Job description

We are looking for an Experienced Chauffeur's Driver. Drivers will delivery lumber, building materials, millworks and other merchandise to customers site and our other locations.

Must be at least 21 years old and 5 years driving experience.

Duties/ Responsibilities:

• Plans and completes an efficient delivery and pick up route for the day.
• Loads delivery vehicle with parcels scheduled for delivery.
• Delivers parcels to correct addresses, obtaining signatures and proof of receipt when necessary.
• Picks up parcels along the scheduled route, including items to be returned, company orders, and other items as requested.
• Maintains basic records of truck mileage and deliveries made.
• Ensures that delivery vehicle receives basic service according to maintenance schedule; reports larger service needs and mechanical issues to supervisor.
• Assists in general warehouse duties when delivery route is completed.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Must maintain an active Class "D" license and Medical Card
• Ability to drive safely.
• Ability to use navigation tools such as onboard GPS, smartphone apps, and/or web-based or physical maps.
• Ability to plan delivery routes.
• Ability to maintain basic logs and records.
• Ability to carry out a series of instructions without constant supervision.
• Able to remain professional and courteous at all times.

Education and Experience:

• Valid Class "D" driver’s license, current medical card and clean driving record.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
• Must be able to load and unload packages with and without dollies in various types of weather.
