Provides repair, upkeep and maintenance on Brunswick pinsetters and AMF BES-X scoring system in the DAC Bowling Center.

Primary Duties

Provide repairs and maintenance on pinsetters and scoring system when reported from the Bowling Desk. Basic stops during league bowling should be completed in 2-3 minutes of the call, unless a problem develops that requires additional repair time. Small amount of assistance with basic maintenance issues in the bowling center area. Maintains a supply of parts that are necessary to complete repairs and carefully anticipates an adequate supply of these parts.

Desirable Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

Must have good working knowledge of Brunswick pinsetters and AMF Boss scoring system. The ability to problem-solve through a variety of situations quickly and efficiently.

Bowling Center Mechanic Details

• The staffing and scheduling of all mechanics in the Bowling Center, usually are coordinated with all DAC League Bowling. The full-time mechanic usually will work a 5-day; 40-hour schedule starting at 2:00 or 3:00 pm, with some overtime Saturday shifts for Bowling Tournaments and Special Events. Part-time mechanics will be scheduled for the remainder of the shifts that usually involve all Saturday night Mixed Leagues. The Saturday leagues start at 5:30 pm, so their shift will start at 4:30 pm.
• At all times, every mechanic will operate under a code of Safety 1st!! This simply means that every time a pinsetter must be serviced, each employee will double-check to make sure that the electric power to the machine is turned off. This way everyone can be extremely safe while servicing the pinsetter. Each Bowling Center employee will stress this point at all times, when working as a team on difficult repairs. We must all work diligently to avoid job-related injuries in the Bowling Center.
• The Brunswick A-2 pinsetters that we have at the DAC were installed in the late 1950s and were converted from original A machines. Yes, they are quite old, but they are mechanically oriented and usually quite easy to problem-solve most machine stops. The Brunswick Repair Manual is located in the rear Mechanics Room and should be consulted when there is a difficult repair. This manual will detail most stops, repairs, cleaning procedures and has a preventative maintenance area.

• Bowling Center basic repair and maintenance issues
