The Associate Attorney – Commercial Leasing role offers true ownership over matters, hands-on transactional experience, and direct client interaction in a collaborative, entrepreneurial culture.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school and NY admission.
• Approximately 4–7 years of transactional real estate experience.
• Experience drafting and negotiating governing documents, vendor and contractor agreements, closing documents, and commercial leases.
• Ability to act as transfer agent for cooperatives, and review and advise on stock and lease transfers.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; strong research and writing.
• Comfort with technology, including legal tech and AI tools.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate commercial leases for landlord and tenant clients across office, retail, and industrial properties.
• Represent parties at every stage of the leasing process, from LOI to final lease.
• Draft and negotiate ancillary lease documents (SNDAs, estoppel certificates).
• Advise on build-out, alterations, and construction provisions tied to leases; include AIA contract review where applicable.
• Coordinate lease closings and transaction logistics to ensure timely documentation.
• Advise on lease disputes and coordinate with litigation counsel when needed.
