Job summary

The Ben, a luxury hotel in West Palm Beach managed by The Ben Team, seeks a dedicated line cook to prepare items according to recipes and quality standards. You will help maintain a sanitary kitchen environment in our 208-room boutique property that blends Palm Beach heritage with modern flair.

The role requires 1–2 years of related experience, knowledge of cooking practices, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, guest-focused setting.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of cooking and the practices and procedures of a kitchen.
• Experience in a related position with this company or another organization (1–2 years).
• Ability to perform physical tasks and adhere to safety standards.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Check items against recipe cards and verify use records for all items served; ensure quality presentation.
• Monitor line setup prior to meal functions for maximum efficiency.
• Maintain kitchen cleanliness and adhere to SOP; practice "clean as you go" policy.
• Prepare food of consistent quality following recipes and production standards.
• Start ahead items carefully; avoid over-prepping beyond estimated needs.
• Date and rotate perishables per SOP; keep items at proper temperatures.
• Check pars for shift use and determine necessary preparation.
• Note out-of-stock items or shortages and communicate needs.
• Assist in keeping buffet stocked and replenished.
• Return unused items to storage with proper cover/date.
