Job description

ERMis hiring a Botanistto conduct surveys for project efforts in Lincoln County, Idaho. This is a full-time (50hrs/week), limited-term role for a duration of 3 months extendable.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Monitoring efforts include surveys for BLM special status plant species.
  • Lead a team of up to 6 biologists to conduct surveys.
  • Electronic data collection.
  • Handheld and sub-meter accurate GPS data collection.
  • Daily reporting and survey report compilation.
  • Coordinating with other field team members, field coordinator, and project manager.
  • Other duties as assigned or required.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Botany, Ecology, or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience required.
  • Experience working in Idaho is required.
  • Ability to hike in rough terrain up to 5 miles per day in a range of temperatures.
  • Ability to work safely outdoors in variable weather conditions.
  • Must have a strong attentional to detail in documentation of work.
  • Must have strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Work schedule will include weekends (Saturday) and/or over-time.
  • Desire to work in the field for extended periods of time and maintain a positive attitude.
  • Willingness and ability to travel as needed.
  • Demonstrated independent and effective problem solving and decision-making skills.
