Job summary

GBH News is seeking an intrepid reporter to cover Massachusetts politics and policy from Boston. You will tap into the state’s Congressional delegation, translate legislative news, and explain policy impacts to our audience across online, radio, and social media. You’ll work with other politics team members to guide stories with a government angle and contribute to newsletters.

The role is temporary, reporting to the Senior Editor of Politics, with on-site presence required at our Boston office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required.
• At least 3 years of experience as a reporter covering politics.
• Solid track record of enterprise, exclusive, and breaking news reporting.

Responsibilities

• Develop daily and weekly state politics and policy coverage with editors.
• File regularly across radio, web, social, and occasionally TV.
• Cover general assignment reporting for the newsroom as needed.
• Assist with newsletters and appear on radio/TV/video productions when required.
