Job summary

Imperative Logistics Group is seeking an experienced driver to safely and efficiently operate a commercial truck for extended hours, picking up and delivering freight locally to airlines and customers as needed by shipment service level.

The role requires loading/unloading, paperwork accuracy, and daily customer interaction, with 26,000+ lb GVW capability and 3+ years driving history. 24/7 operations support the team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required and clean driving record.
• 3 years commercial driving experience with valid CDL.
• Must operate a 26,000+ lb GVW truck and MAWB decoding experience is a plus.
• Ability to use handheld devices and basic office email.

Responsibilities

• Load, unload and transport cargo to/from customer sites and airport.
• Maintain contact with dispatcher for instructions and updates.
• Complete bill of ladings and MAWBs for airlines to tender freight.
• Maintain driver logs and vehicle inspections per regulations.
• Interact daily with customers and ensure service quality.
• Safely operate and inspect a heavy-duty truck for long hours.

JOB SUMMARY The driver will safely and efficiently drive a commercial truck for extended hours to pick up and deliver freight. Drives truck, applying knowledge of commercial driving regulations, to transport and deliver goods locally to the airline and/or customer as determined by service level of shipment.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• To load, unload, and transport cargo to and from customer locations and airport.
• Maintain telephone contact with dispatcher to receive instructions.
• Neatly complete bill of ladings and MAWB’s (Master Airway Bill) for airlines in order to tender freight.
• Maintain driver logbook and daily vehicle inspection report according to I.C.C regulations.
• Interact daily with customers.
• Sit, stand, climb, lift 50 lbs.
• Must be able to load cargo weighing in excess of 1000 lbs with the assistance of a pallet jack

PAY $27.00 per hour, we consider a variety of factors in determining base compensation including but not limited to experience, education, certifications, internal equity, market data and geography.

QUALIFICATION AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

• High School diploma
• 3 years commercial driving experience
• Must hold valid Driver’s License.
• Must be able to operate a truck with a capacity of 26,000 plus pounds gross vehicle weight.
• Ability to operate handheld computer / cellular telephone.
• Time management, processing paperwork
• Must have basic knowledge of computers and email.
• The ability to operate handheld device used to communicate shipment information

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Must be able to operate and drive a truck with a capacity of 26,000lbs GVW.
• Ability to drive long hours and travel regularly.
• Must be able to climb into and out of tractor several times per day using 3 points of contact.
• Ability to lift over 50lbs at a time.
• Must be able to bend, stoop, crawl, and squat in order to perform a full inspection of the underside of the trailer and inspect tires for adequate inflation and potential damage.
• Must be able to work outside for short periods of time in all types of weather.
