Job summary

North Sky Communications seeks a Telecom Drill Bores Operator to install underground telecommunications cables and infrastructure. You will determine bore paths, safely operate all drilling equipment, verify existing utilities by potholing, and develop and maintain a precise bore schedule in the field to meet project timelines.

Requirements include being at least 18 years old, authorized to work in the United States, and having a High School Diploma or GED or equivalent work experience.

Qualifications

• At least 18 years of age.
• Authorization to work in the United States.
• High School Diploma, GED equivalent, or relevant work experience.
• Valid state driver's license (non-provisional) with acceptable driving record.
• Valid Class A Commercial driver's license with tanker endorsement or willingness to obtain it.
• Experience with drilling equipment, including capabilities, limitations, drill setup, and design processes.

Responsibilities

• Determine bore path and locate utilities.
• Safely operate and control all necessary equipment to complete assigned tasks.
• Verify existing utilities by potholing to determine bore path.
• Utilize “Mud” mixing systems.
• Develop and maintain a bore schedule.
• Responsible for site set-up, clean‑up, and equipment maintenance.
• Perform work in all weather conditions.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Routinely: work with arms above shoulder level, in confined space and remote locations, operate vehicle and heavy machinery, squeeze, fine hand motion, bend, stoop, stand, walk, climb stairs and lift greater than 55 pounds
• Occasionally: use ladder, keyboard and mouse

Wage Range

$30.00 - $38.00 per hour
