Job summary

Customs and Border Protection (CBP) seeks a Customs and Border Protection Officer (CBPO). The role includes enforcing customs, immigration, and agricultural laws; managing the flow of legitimate trade and travel; and performing inspections of people and conveyances at borders.

The position offers multiple grades (GS-5/7/9) with growth potential to GS-11/12, competitive base pay, and incentives. Employees receive federal benefits, including health and dental insurance and a strong retirement

Responsibilities

• Enforcing customs, immigration, and agriculture law and regulations.
• Enforcing the flow of legitimate trade and travel.
• Conducting inspections of individuals and conveyances.
• Determining the admissibility of individuals for entry into the United States; and
• Preventing the illegal entry of individuals and prohibited goods and the smuggling of illegal drugs and other contraband
