Job summary

Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is hiring Customs and Border Protection Officer (CBPO) across entry and mid-level career paths. This role enforces customs, immigration, and agriculture laws, conducts inspections, and determines admissibility of entrants into the United States.

Officers receive competitive base pay, federal benefits, and potential recruitment incentives. Training is provided at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center.

Qualifications

• GS-5 qualification includes a bachelor's degree or equivalent education.
• GS-7 requires specialized experience or a bachelor’s degree with SAA.
• GS-9 allows for experience, education, or a combination with advanced education.

Responsibilities

• Enforcing customs, immigration, and agriculture law and regulations.
• Enforcing the flow of legitimate trade and travel.
• Conducting inspections of individuals and conveyances.
• Determining the admissibility of individuals for entry into the United States.
• Preventing illegal entry of individuals and prohibited goods.
