Qualifications

• GS-7 requires 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade, and CBP Officer requirements.
• GS-9 requires 1 year of specialized experience or advanced education or combination of both.

Responsibilities

• Enforcing customs, immigration, and agriculture regulations.
• Overseeing the flow of legitimate trade and travel.
• Conducting inspections of individuals and conveyances.
• Determining admissibility of entrants.
• Preventing illegal entry and smuggling of prohibited goods.
