Qualifications

• GS-5/7/9 level qualifications with education or experience in public safety or law enforcement.
• GS-5 requires 3 years general experience or a bachelor's degree or equivalent.
• GS-7/GS-9 require specialized experience including inspections and regulatory work.

Responsibilities

• Enforcing customs, immigration, and agriculture law and regulations.
• Enforcing the flow of legitimate trade and travel.
• Conducting inspections of individuals and conveyances.
• Determining the admissibility of individuals for entry into the United States.
• Preventing illegal entry of individuals and prohibited goods and contraband.
