Job summary

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (U.S. Border Patrol) seeks experienced law enforcement professionals for reemployed annuitant roles across designated Border Patrol sectors.

The position starts at $91,985.00 (GS-12, Step 1) and goes to $119,583.00 (GS-12, Step 10), with potential dual compensation waivers and accelerated re-entry training. Selected candidates will patrol borders by land, sea, or air, detect illegal entries, and enforce immigration and other laws.

Qualifications

• Specialized experience in law enforcement or related work showing the ability to arrest and use firearms with sound judgment.
• Ability to deal courteously with individuals or groups in law enforcement matters.
• Ability to analyze information rapidly and decide on appropriate actions in light of laws and procedures.
• Develop and maintain a network of informants.

Responsibilities

• Protect borders by enforcing immigration and related laws.
• Investigate and apprehend unauthorized entrants and smugglers.
• Conduct surveillance using government assets and trained techniques.
• Ensure compliance with firearms policies and safety standards.
• Coordinate with sector personnel and other agencies as needed.
