Job summary

Customs and Border Protection seeks Border Patrol Agents to help secure the U.S. border. You will be part of a Federal Law Enforcement Officer workforce, performing inspections, questioning individuals, and maintaining surveillance to deter illegal entry.

Qualifications

• Ability to learn regulations and procedures through training and on-the-job instruction.
• Knowledge of immigration and nationality law and related policies.
• Familiarity with force policy and procedures in law enforcement contexts.

Responsibilities

• Detect and question individuals suspected of violating immigration or customs laws.
• Maintain surveillance and apprehend/noncitizens near borders using available resources.
• Interpret tracks and evidence to determine entry or contraband.
• Perform checks of farms, buildings, traffic, and transportation as part of patrols.
• Patrol international boundaries and coastal waterways using multiple assets.
