Qualifications

• One year of general work experience demonstrating decision making and composure under stress.
• Bachelor's degree or completion of a full four-year course of study from an accredited college or university.
• Combination of general work experience and college education may qualify.

Responsibilities

• Detecting and questioning people suspected of immigration and customs violations and inspecting documents to determine citizenship or violations.
• Preventing and apprehending undocumented noncitizens and smugglers at or near borders using surveillance and various assets.
• Interpreting tracks, marks, and other evidence of illegal entry; following policy and regulations.
• Performing farm checks, building checks, traffic checks, city patrols, and transportation checks.
• Patrolling the international boundary and coastal waterways using vehicles, horses, vessels, and other assets.
