U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is seeking a reemployed annuitant Border Patrol Agent to support USBP missions.

The role starts at GS-12, with opportunities across approved sectors, and includes expedited pre-employment processing and accelerated re-entry training. As a Border Patrol Agent, you will prevent illegal entry, enforce immigration and nationality laws, and collaborate with a broad federal law enforcement network.

Qualifications

  • Specialized experience in law enforcement or other responsible work that demonstrates the ability to: make arrests and exercise sound judgment in the use of firearms; deal effectively with individuals or groups in a courteous, tactful manner in connection with law enforcement matters; analyze information rapidly and make prompt decisions or take prompt and appropriate law enforcement action.

Responsibilities

  • Protect America’s borders by land, water, or air and enforce immigration and customs laws.
  • Retired Border Patrol Agents may re-enter through accelerated pre-employment and training processes.
  • Suppress illegal entry of aliens and apprehend smugglers or unauthorized entrants.
  • Perform duties such as patrolling borders using a variety of assets, conducting checks, and responding to incidents.
