Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Detect and question individuals suspected of violating immigration and customs laws and inspect documents to determine citizenship or violations.
• Prevent and apprehend undocumented noncitizens and smugglers near borders using surveillance and night-vision equipment.
• Interpret tracks, marks, and evidence of illegal entry or contraband; gather information from records.
• Perform farm, building, traffic, city, and transportation checks as part of patrol duties.
• Patrol international boundaries and coastal waterways using various government assets to accomplish agency missions.
