Customs and Border Protection seeks Border Patrol Agents to enforce immigration and border laws across multiple duty locations in the United States. Training includes the Border Patrol Academy, with possibilities for advancement through GL-5, GL-7, GL-9 or GS-11 levels.

Qualifications

• KSAOs required: knowledge of immigration law, use of force policy, criminal law and procedure.
• Skills in physical techniques and firearms; ability to operate vehicles as needed.
• Formal training at Border Patrol Academy; U.S. citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Detect immigration and customs violations and inspect documents and possessions.
• Pursue, apprehend, and disable threats near borders using state assets.
• Interpret evidence and follow tracks of illegal entry and contraband.
• Conduct farms, buildings, traffic, city, and transportation checks.
• Patrol international boundaries and coastal waterways using various vehicles and assets.
