Qualifications

• One year of general work experience demonstrating leadership, decisiveness, and composure in challenging situations.
• Bachelor's degree or completion of a full four-year course of study in any field leading to a degree, or a combination of education and experience.
• Combination of general work experience and education may be considered for qualification.
• Previous public safety or law enforcement exposure is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Detect and question people suspected of immigration or customs violations and inspect documents to determine status.
• Prevent and apprehend undocumented individuals and smugglers near borders using surveillance and night operations.
• Interpret tracks, marks, and other evidence of illegal entry or contraband.
• Conduct farm, building, traffic, city, and transportation checks as part of patrol duties.
• Patrol international boundaries and coastal waterways using a range of government assets.
