In addition to the base salary for CBPOs (GS-9), there are recruitment incentives up to $15,000 per year for multi‑location service contracts and potential overtime pay up to $45,000.

Qualifications

• GS-9 eligibility can be achieved through experience, education, or a combination.
• Minimum one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level.
• Education substitution: a master’s degree or higher or related graduate education.
• Combination of specialized experience AND graduate-level education as determined from resume and transcripts.

Responsibilities

• Enforce customs, immigration, and agriculture laws and regulations.
• Facilitate the flow of legitimate trade and travel.
• Conduct inspections of individuals and conveyances.
• Determine the admissibility of individuals for entry into the United States.
• Prevent the illegal entry of individuals and prohibited goods and the smuggling of illegal drugs and other contraband.
