Job summary

RJW Logistics Group is seeking an Inventory Control Clerk to perform cycle counts and bin location audits, assist in reconciling inventory discrepancies, and work with the Inventory Supervisor on inventory-related tasks in the stockroom, warehouse, or yard.

The role requires counting items, inputting data accurately, and maintaining inventory integrity, with forklift/cherry picker experience and basic MS Office skills. The position is office/warehouse based with standard hours.

Qualifications

Minimum 1–3 months related experience in Inventory Control.
Minimum 1–3 months related experience in a warehouse environment.
Must be able to communicate, read, write, and speak English.
Experience operating a forklift and cherry picker/high lift.
Experience using WMS software is a plus (Synapse preferred).
PC literate with experience using Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Access Database.

Responsibilities

Perform physical counts of inventory items to maintain accurate inventory.
Count and reconcile randomly chosen or selected part numbers and/or locations daily.
Accurately input inventory control data to ensure inventory integrity.
Complete necessary documentation thoroughly, accurately, and on time.
Trace the history of items to determine reasons for discrepancies between inventory and stock control records and recommend remedial actions to resolve discrepancies.
Other tasks assigned by supervisor/manager.
Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Write routine reports and correspondence.
Ensure compliance with inventory processes and procedures and contractual obligations.
Physically count articles or products on shelves, racks, and pallets.
Utilize computer terminals to properly account for inventory issues, returns, and documentation.

Job description

Shift

Monday‑Friday 7:00 am – 3:30 pm – $20 /hr

Pay Incentives

Attendance Incentive – up to $2400 bonus for good attendance (refer to policy for rules and details)
Referral Bonus – up to $500 per referral (refer to policy for rules and details)
Hiring Bonus – up to $1000 (refer to policy for rules and details)
Step increase program – Pay increases by $0.50 after 90 days and again after 180 days (Material Handlers Only)
Certified/qualified Forklift/Walkie Rider/Cherry Picker drivers receive an additional $0.50 per hour
Certified/qualified Reach Truck drivers receive an additional $1.00 per hour

Job Purpose

The Inventory Control Clerk is responsible for conducting cycle counts and bin location audits, assisting in researching and reconciling inventory discrepancies, and working with the Inventory Supervisor/Manager on any inventory‑related functions concerning materials, supplies, tools, equipment, and parts in the stockroom, warehouse, or yard.

Ability to physically count articles or products on shelves, racks, and pallets.
Forklift certification is a plus.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations with limited standardization. Interpret instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form and determine the root cause of problems and corrective actions.

Computer Skills

Knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite for writing emails and creating reports.

Physical Demands

Occasionally lift and/or move up to 55 pounds.
Stand, walk; stoop; kneel; crouch; or crawl.
Activate phone systems using keyboards and buttons.
Articulate and comfortable speaking in front of others.
Work in an indoor/office environment and sit or use repetitive hand motion.
Talk, hear, stand, and walk regularly.
Work more than 8 continuous hours when required.
Work under stressful situations, maintain accuracy, and concentrate on multiple tasks.
Read and discern visual images on a variety of media with 20/20 corrected vision.
Speak and communicate clearly over telephones.
Be in sound physical health as determined by a certified licensed physician with no evidence of controlled substance use.

Work Environment

Occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles. Noise level ranges from quiet to moderately loud.
