BARNES & NOBLE BOOKSELLERS, INC. is seeking a Deputy Assistant Store Manager (DASM) to lead bookstore teams, drive sales and uphold high standards of Customer service, merchandising and loss prevention. This role emphasizes leadership, teamwork, and operational excellence to deliver consistent store performance.

The DASM will work to develop staff, manage rosters, communicate store goals, and ensure a welcoming shopping environment while supporting cross-functional initiatives across clusters.

Qualifications

• Demonstrate effective ownership of key responsibilities to support and lead the store team and operations ensuring smooth day-to-day operations in absence of the ASM and SM.
• Support developmental priorities within the team, ensuring well-rounded abilities to meet the demands of the store and the potential of individual booksellers is realized.

Responsibilities

• Hold the store team accountable for consistent standards appropriate for their position, addressing opportunities promptly and fairly with leadership.
• Communicate company messages clearly to the store team in the absence of senior management.
• Demonstrate integrity and personal credibility to inspire engagement and performance within the team and cluster.
• Run the store effectively in the absence of the ASM and SM to support a Cluster role when needed.
