  • Prepare cash boxes for use at extracurricular activities and events.
  • Sell and account for bookstore supplies and class fees.
  • Assist in the preparation, checking, and reconciliation of inventory and various funds.
  • Receive, identify, issue, collect, and take inventory of textbooks and supplies.
  • Perform clerical tasks including typing, filing, coding, copying, and reporting.
  • Maintain accurate files, accounts, data and records.
  • Handle correspondence and disseminate information as needed.
  • Ensure student safety and well-being while under supervision.
  • Provide prompt, friendly, and patient service to internal and external customers.

JOB TITLE: BOOKSTORE ASSISTANT

CALENDAR: 2171FT (9 MONTH)

SALARY: GRADE 109 (SUPPORT HOURLY)

Job Goal:

Perform accounting and clerical services in compliance with federal, state, county, and district accounting regulations.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Two or more years’ experience in a related field
  • Fundamental knowledge of accounting practices and procedures
  • Ability to work with standard software products, including all Microsoft Office and Google programs
  • Satisfactory criminal background check
  • Knowledge of and adherence to district policies and procedures affecting assigned work

Core Job Functions:

  • Handle monies from extracurricular activities, student events, and fundraising projects, including preparing and depositing cash.
  • Reconcile daily cash receipts with cash register transactions.
