About The Position

As our stellar Bookkeeping Specialist, you will collaborate with members on the XYPN Books Team and our virtuoso financial advisor clients, to manage their books, provide monthly reconciliation, and answer inquiries related to their financial situation. While delivering top-notch work with unparalleled accuracy, you’ll also provide a huzzah level of customer service in this role!

What You’ll Do

  • Perform all bookkeeping tasks for and communicate/resolve issues with 45+ clients on a monthly basis without breaking a sweat.
  • Managing time effectively while being able to set your own schedule, but still meeting XYPN Books expectations of client service and required weekly meetings.
  • Track your time and each client’s bookkeeping progress diligently so we always know when things are on or off track
  • Be comfortable working within a “pod” of teammates and gain an understanding of their client’s books as well
  • Demonstrate a general understanding of accounting principles and get the hang of their relation to the regulatory environment in which XYPN Books operates.
  • Support the strategic vision set by the XYPN Books Director.
  • Proactively communicating with the team & your manager and updating any project management or tracking software to ensure the whole team is in the loop on where your work is at.

The Deets

Start Date: Immediately

Status: Full-time (40 hours per week w/ flexible schedule), non-exempt (eligible for overtime)

Location: Remote or Bozeman, MT

Team: XYPN Books

Reports to: Accounting Manager or Director of XYPN Books

Direct Reports: None

Travel: Up to 10% travel (e.g., 2-3 weeks /year) required for team retreats and other company events

  • Exceptional customer focus and commitment - each day, every day
  • Authorized to live and work in the United States
  • Bookkeeping experience, preferably with multiple clients
  • Details and numbers are among your list of favorite things (ever).
  • Your communication skills are top-tier and empower you to communicate effectively about many moving parts with many corresponding teammates and clients.
  • You're a multitasking machine with a demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and/or projects and meet deadlines.
  • Experience going “above and beyond” and thinking one step ahead in order to thrill customers both in small and mighty ways.

What Would Make Us Drool

  • Understanding of and proficiency with Quickbooks Online
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or relevant field (preferably accounting or finance)
  • Ability to collaborate with the Team members and others within the organization
  • Public accounting or public tax preparation experience
  • Background in the financial services industry
  • Experience in or an utmost desire to be part of a quickly growing work environment.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary: $50,000-55,000/year.
