Job summary

H&R Block, Inc. is seeking an experienced Bookkeeper in Siler City, NC to deliver accurate bookkeeping, payroll, and client service, supporting the brand's mission to help and inspire communities.

You will post transactions, reconcile accounts, generate financial statements, and manage payroll and tax documents, while collaborating with clients and vendors to foster growth and retention.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• National bookkeeping and payroll certifications from the National Bookkeeping Association, or ability to obtain them.
• 1–3 years of bookkeeping experience.
• Knowledge of bookkeeping practices and GAAP & procedures.
• Ability to interpret and apply policies and regulations.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
• Analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills; able to multi-task independently.

Responsibilities

• Post financial transactions into subsidiary books and general ledgers.
• Reconcile and balance accounts.
• Generate and analyze financial statements.
• Prepare and process payroll.
• Generate 1099s and W2s; prepare tax statements.
• Communicate with clients, suppliers, vendors and banking contacts.
• Assist in client retention and growth opportunities.
