Job summary

SMG ABA LLC in Islandia, NY is seeking a Bookkeeper to keep client books accurate, current, and decision-ready. You’ll ensure clean general ledgers, timely reporting, and reliable support for payroll and tax items.

Onsite Monday–Friday, 8:45am–5:30pm with summer half-day Fridays; benefits include health coverage, 401(k), PTO, and more. Responsibilities include QuickBooks entries, reconciliations, and weekly P&L analyses.

Qualifications

• Strong Excel skills and comfort working across multiple priorities.
• Detail- and deadline-oriented with analytical, problem-solving ability.
• Client service mindset with clear, professional communication.

Responsibilities

• QuickBooks bookkeeping, including journal entries and general ledger management.
• Accounts payable and accounts receivable processing.
• Weekly payroll processing and payroll clearing entries.
• Bank/credit card/loan reconciliations and discrepancy resolution.
• Bank feed setup, mapping, and coding.
• Weekly/monthly P&L reporting and comparative analyses.
• Support for payroll tax and sales tax preparation.
• Close support through reconciliations of payables, prepaids, and accruals.
