Job summary

A therapeutic school in Traverse City is seeking a dedicated financial consultant to manage day-to-day operations, oversee payroll and invoicing, and ensure accurate financial reporting. The ideal candidate will have a BA in Finance or Accounting and at least 5 years of relevant experience. Academics West is a therapeutic school for students from 1st through 12th grade. Our students typically have a combination of learning issues and emotional challenges. We are founded on our Clinically Informed Academic model, which is the underpinning of our school.

Candidates applying for this position must be dedicated to our mission of helping children and their families. The applicant must have exceptional bookkeeping skills and be able to interpret financial statements, provide reports to the CEO and seamlessly conduct the day to day operations. This consultant would work with the CEO/Co-founder and interact with Registrar, Director of Education, HR Generalist and Admissions.

Responsibilities Performed Directly:

Billing Weekly

Accounts Receivables review and collections

Accounts Payables

Payroll and invoicing

Processing all invoices via check or merchant services

HR administration, payroll, 401k benefit oversight, healthcare benefits oversight

Obtain primary financial data for accounting records

Reconciliation - Check the accuracy of business transactions

Perform data entry and administrative duties as needed

Use accounting software to manage all financial data

Liason with accountant to provide financial data

Collaborate with HR Generalist for payroll and other compensation needs

Qualifications:

BA in Finance or Accounting

Minimum of 5 years experience in accounting, finance, or other related fields

Fundamental knowledge of GAAP

Strong knowledge of ADP Payroll Services

Ability to use Xero or Quickbooks software

Ability to prioritize and multitask

Strong organizational skills

Ability to collaborate well with other staff

Deadline and detail-oriented
