• Strong understanding of general ledger accounting and accounting principles.

We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Senior Bookkeeper to manage our day-to-day accounting operations and support our continued growth.

Our accounting system is Accounting Seed, built on Salesforce. Previous Accounting Seed experience is highly preferred, but we are willing to train an excellent bookkeeper who brings strong accounting fundamentals, technical aptitude, and a willingness to learn.

Key Responsibilities

Accounting & Bookkeeping

• Manage daily bookkeeping activities using Accounting Seed.
• Process vendor invoices, payments, and credit card transactions.
• Manage accounts receivable, including customer invoicing, payment applications, and collections follow-up.
• Oversee recurring customer billing and project-based invoicing, including construction-related projects.
• Maintain accurate general ledger records.
• Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and balance sheet accounts.

Financial Reporting

• Independently manage the monthly closing process.
• Prepare and review monthly financial statements, including profit and loss statements and balance sheets.
• Monitor cash flow, receivables, and payables.
• Assist with financial forecasts, budgeting, and management reporting.
• Identify and resolve discrepancies to maintain accurate financial records.

Sales Tax & Compliance

• Prepare and file sales tax returns in multiple states.
• Maintain records supporting sales tax compliance.
• Coordinate with external accountants on year-end closing and tax preparation.
• Support financial controls and accurate documentation.

Accounting Systems & Process Improvement

• Maintain accounting records within Accounting Seed and Salesforce.
• Learn and utilize Accounting Seed's reporting and automation capabilities.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting workflows and efficiency.
• Work with management to develop reliable accounting processes as the business grows.

Qualifications

Required

• Minimum 4 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience.
• Experience managing the full accounting cycle, including A/P, A/R, reconciliations, and month-end closing.
• Strong understanding of general ledger accounting and accounting principles.
• Experience preparing and reviewing financial statements.
• Proficiency in Excel and accounting software.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
• Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Comfortable learning new technology and accounting systems.

Strongly Preferred

• Hands-on experience with Accounting Seed.
• Experience working within Salesforce.
• Experience with multi-state sales tax reporting.
• Experience with recurring billing and project-based accounting.
• Experience with QuickBooks Online or another comprehensive accounting platform.
• Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

Accounting Seed experience is not mandatory. We value strong accounting knowledge, initiative, and a willingness to learn.
