Job summary

Five Star Nursing (FSN) is seeking a Registered Nurse specialized in Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) in Columbus, OH. You will join a multidisciplinary team delivering stem cell transplant nursing care, including autologous and allogeneic transplants, with a focus on engraftment monitoring and complication management.

Requirements include a BSN, active RN license, 2+ years in oncology/hematology, BLS, and transplant knowledge.

Qualifications

• BSN from an accredited program.
• Minimum of 2 years’ nursing experience, preferably in oncology or hematology; stem cell or bone marrow transplantation experience is highly preferred.
• Valid and active RN license.
• BLS certification.
• OCN or BMTCN certification is a plus.
• Strong clinical knowledge of stem cell transplant procedures, immunosuppressive therapies, and infection control protocols.

Responsibilities

• Deliver direct, compassionate nursing care to patients receiving stem cell transplants, including chemotherapy, biotherapy, and blood transfusions.
• Monitor for and manage transplant-related complications such as GVHD, mucositis, infections, and other immunocompromised patient needs.
• Conduct thorough patient assessments, adjusting care plans collaboratively with the BMT team to optimize outcomes.
• Safely administer treatments in compliance with institutional protocols and best practices.
• Educate patients and their families about post-transplant care, discharge instructions, and long-term follow-up to promote recovery and health maintenance.
• Document patient interactions, clinical procedures, and care plans accurately and comprehensively.
• Foster a supportive, safe, and healing environment that prioritizes patient comfort and safety throughout the transplant process.
