Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking a Radiology Technologist specialized in bone density to join our imaging team in Massachusetts. You will prepare patients, position to optimize bone density exams, operate densitometry equipment, and review images for accuracy while supporting scheduling and patient experience.

Responsibilities include performing quality control, processing orders, and maintaining supplies.

Qualifications

Two years of radiologic technology experience in a hospital setting.
Graduate of an AMA approved program in radiology for registration eligibility preferred.
Current Massachusetts Radiologic Technologist License and ARRT certification preferred.
Must attain bone density certification within one year of hire.

Responsibilities

Prepares and positions patients for diagnostic bone density exams, setting up equipment and patient alignment.
Enters instructions into computers, monitors and evaluates images for accuracy and completeness.
Evaluates and interprets bone density scans for image quality, positioning, and comparison to prior studies.
Assesses if additional scans are needed for proper diagnostics.
Responds to patient needs and explains procedures clearly to minimize anxiety.
Performs daily and weekly quality control on bone densitometer.
Handles administrative tasks including reviewing radiology orders and coordinating with staff.
Maintains supplies and supports scheduling to improve patient experience.
