Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking a Bone Density Technician to perform and analyze bone density scans and prepare reports. The role includes administrative support for physicians, scheduling, referrals, and maintaining patient records.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or GED, 1–3 years related experience, and be willing to train as a CBDT. Proficiency with MS Office is preferred; strong communication in English is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1-3 years related work experience required.
• Willingness to be trained as a Bone Density Technician.
• Experience with computer systems and MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint or Access).

Responsibilities

• Perform bone density scans 1–4 times per week and quality check the densitometer.
• Analyze scans, write and edit reports, and input scans into the system.
• Answer phones, schedule bone density and other clinics, obtain referrals, and maintain calendars.
• Obtain signatures on Advanced Beneficiary Notices from patients who may not have insurance coverage for bone density tests.
• Organize and maintain patient files and follow up on information requests.
