Job summary

ABM in El Segundo, CA seeks a Building Engineer to ensure the efficient operation, maintenance, and repair of building systems, equipment, and infrastructure. You will troubleshoot, coordinate service calls, escort vendors on-site, and collaborate with contractors to keep the facility safe, compliant, and functional.

The role requires the ability to monitor HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems, perform preventative maintenance, and respond to emergencies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree or technical certification in building systems preferred.
• Experience with central plant operations and monitoring building systems; general electrical troubleshooting and facility support experience preferred.
• Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in building engineering, facilities management, or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Central plant operations and monitoring of equipment and systems.
• Perform routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs on HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.
• Address and resolve building system malfunctions promptly to minimize disruptions.
• Respond to service requests and emergencies during and after business hours.
• Schedule and coordinate service calls with internal teams and external vendors.
• Monitor building management systems (BMS) to optimize energy usage and system performance.
• Escort vendors and contractors on-site, ensuring adherence to safety requirements.
• Support capital improvement projects and renovations with technical input and oversight.
