Job summary

Turner Industries in Decatur, AL seeks a Boilermaker/Millwright to assemble and repair boilers, tanks, exchangers and related equipment per blueprint specs. This non-exempt role reports to a Foreman and requires safety compliance and accurate workmanship.

Responsibilities include rigging, lifting, aligning frames, and testing assembled vessels; candidates should have 1–4 years of relevant experience, be able to pass pre-employment screens, and meet client safety requirements.

Qualifications

• High school or equivalent.
• 1–4 years of experience in the specified skill.
• Proficiency in construction tool use (e.g. grinders, oxy/acetylene torch).
• Rigging.
• National Certification preferred (may be required by client).
• Post offer drug/alcohol screen, physical evaluation, and signed acceptance of the company Drug, Alcohol and Contraband Policy.
• Comply with company and client job site safety requirements.
• Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of others in the workplace.

Responsibilities

• Locate and mark reference points for columns and plates on foundation; attach rigging or signals crane operator to lift parts to specified position; align structures or plate sections to assemble boiler frame, tanks or vats; hammer, flame-cut, file or grind edges to fit; bolt structures and sections; position drums and headers into supports; align water tubes and connect/expand tube ends; bolt casing sections and related parts; install trays in process towers; install manholes, valves, gauges and feedwater connections in drums; assist in testing vessels.
