Job summary

Turner Industries is seeking a Boilermaker for a position in Plaquemine, LA. The Boilermaker assembles and disassembles, erects, and repairs boilers, tanks, vats, pressure vessels, exchangers, and heaters according to blueprint specifications.

Non-exempt role; Reports to a Front-Line Supervisor; Duties per procedures with frequent checks. Essential qualifications include a high school or equivalent, 1–4 years of experience, pre-employment tests, and post-offer drug/alcohol screening.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1–4 years of experience as a Boilermaker (level dependent).
• Pre-employment qualification test.
• Post-offer drug/alcohol screen and physical evaluation.
• Safety requirements as required by the client ( PPE etc.).
• Safety equipment as required by the client (hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, respirator, etc.).
• National Certification preferred.
• Applicant must not pose a direct health or safety threat.

Responsibilities

• Locates and marks reference points for columns and plates on foundations.
• Attaches rigging or signals crane operator to lift parts to position.
• Aligns structures or plate sections to assemble boiler frame, tanks or vats.
• Bolts structures and sections together; ensures proper fit.
• Assists in testing assembled vessels.
