Job summary

Sunflower Electric Power Corporation seeks an Operator Technician EIC I-IV to operate, maintain, and repair boilers, turbine-generators, and associated equipment at our generation site. You will diagnose electrical, instrument, and control issues and implement corrective actions to keep plant performance optimal.

Responsibilities include operating control room equipment, monitoring transformers and switchgear, logging data, and reviewing operating instructions.

Qualifications

• Two year post high school education in industrial electric or instrument and controls.
• Progressively responsible experience in industrial electric or instrument and controls.
• Ability to diagnose electrical and instrument-related problems and work with PLCs/DCSs.

Responsibilities

• Operate, maintain, and repair boilers, turbine-generators, and generation station equipment.
• Diagnose electrical, instrument, and control equipment and take corrective actions as needed.
• Lead or assist operations staff and review plant operating instructions regularly.
• Monitor electrical transmission equipment, switchgear, and data logging of plant parameters.
• Enter status data, maintain logs, and report conditions to system operators as required.
• Support safety practices and participate in on-the-job training and simulator training.
