Job summary

Schneider Electric is seeking a Boiler & Fire Watchperson to monitor and maintain boiler room equipment and conduct plant safety inspections. You will ensure safe operation of boilers, chillers, and related systems while monitoring plant conditions and security.

The role requires rotating shifts and the ability to perform hourly tours, inspect equipment, manage water treatment, and respond to weather or emergency situations. A high school diploma and basic computer skills are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Ability to read procedures and safety instructions.
• Ability to meet production and quality standards.
• Ability to safely inspect industrial systems and equipment.
• Basic computer skills and safety awareness.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and monitor boilers, chillers, compressors, and boiler room equipment.
• Perform hourly tours to check for fire, flooding, and entry control.
• Lock/unlock plant entrances as needed.
• Monitor temperatures via gauges and systems.
• Perform water treatment analysis and chemical dosing as required.
• Monitor security systems and cameras; respond to incidents.
• Announce adverse weather conditions to plant personnel via intercom.
• Assist with weather-related access and cleaning duties.
• Support Emergency Response Team operations and fire/emergency systems.
• Work rotating shifts (1st/2nd/3rd) and cover other BFW shifts.
