Job summary

DLA Careers is seeking a Boiler Plant Equipment Mechanic to install, repair and maintain a range of complex heating boilers and associated equipment. You will diagnose issues, test boiler water and condensate, and operate valves in support of continued heating system performance.

The role requires physical work in varied conditions, compliance with safety standards, and readiness to respond to emergency duties. U.S. citizenship and first shift availability are expected.

Qualifications

• Applicants will be rated under the OPM Qualification Standard for Trades and Labor Occupations and must meet the screen-out element (SOE).
• Experience and training must demonstrate knowledge and skill to perform duties at the required level.

Responsibilities

• Installs, modifies, overhauls, repairs and maintains a variety of complex heating boilers and associated equipment.
• Troubleshoots boilers, heating systems, and multi-fuel boilers and furnaces.
• Diagnoses issues by visual and audible examination of equipment.
• Collects water samples and tests feed water, boiler water and condensate.
• Performs work on regulating, solenoid, and hand valves.
