Job Profile Summary

This role involves supporting activities such as dietary and food services, environmental services, general facilities, repair and maintenance, parking, sterilization, and transportation. The focus is on ensuring timely completion of support activities that meet quality standards. Responsibilities include operating, monitoring, troubleshooting, repairing, and replacing mechanical systems like electrical equipment, HVAC, and plumbing. This is a technical role requiring vocational education, training, apprenticeship, and experience. It is an experienced-level position with moderate supervision, handling routine problems that may sometimes require interpretation or deviation from standard procedures.

Job Overview

This position involves physical plant operations, preventative maintenance, and on-call services to maintain patient comfort and safety.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Second class fireman license OR two (2) years’ experience in plant operations.

Preferred Qualifications

• Second class fireman license.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Inspect heating, plumbing, refrigeration, HVAC systems including boilers, chillers, pumps, motors, controls, water tanks, drains, etc.
• Perform preventative maintenance on various systems and equipment.
• Respond to emergencies like power, steam, water, or heat loss, and operate emergency equipment.
• Diagnose and fix problems within the physical plant.
• Notify relevant personnel of major issues requiring specialized repair.
• Operate equipment according to procedures.
• Perform maintenance and repairs as assigned.
• Log operating data, prepare deficiency reports.
• Maintain team relationships and complete training requirements.

Physical Requirements

• Stand and walk frequently, climb stairs/ladders, occasionally lift heavy objects.
• Wear PPE as required, exposure to elements, read gauges, perform physical duties.

• Proficient in English communication, basic computer skills.
• Ability to multitask, solve problems, make independent judgments, and handle stress.
