The role is a floater on a 6am-6pm 2-2-3 schedule, with night coverage when needed; primary dayshift, with standby during vacancies. You will respond to leaks, maintain equipment, work with SAP for maintenance, and ensure compliance with OSHA and Process Safety Management.

JOB SUMMARY: Reporting to the Boiler Chief, the Boiler Operator is responsible for the effective and efficient operation of boiler/refrigeration equipment and systems, and for coordinating the activities of the Department’s personnel as required.
Schedule: 6am-6pm 2-2-3 schedule. This role is for a floater position. You will be required to cover night shift when needed due to vacation or vacancy, however, the normal shift is days.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Associate’s degree (AA) or equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience.
Experience: Three years strong industrial utility systems maintenance background in a manufacturing environment (food processing plant preferred). Experience in electrical, welding and pneumatics helpful.
Communication Skills: Ability to effectively communicate in basic English (both verbal and written) is required. This includes the ability to speak, read and comprehend safety instructions, rules and warnings for self and others in both normal and emergency situations.
Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups, customers/vendors or employees of the organization.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, and diagram or schedule form.
The pay range for this position is $34.68 to $43.86 per hour.
