Job summary

KAG is seeking a Boiler Operator/Heat Technician to operate, monitor, and maintain boiler systems heating ISO containers to required specs. You ensure safe performance, perform preventive maintenance, and maintain logs in a fast-paced facility.

This role requires safety compliance and teamwork with supervisors and maintenance staff. Overtime may occur in fall/winter; benefits are included as part of the package.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid driver's license.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to operate, maintain, and troubleshoot boiler systems.
• Experience in HVAC, industrial maintenance, or industrial mechanics preferred.
• Ability to read schematics and understand basic hydraulic systems.
• Effective communication and customer service skills for working with supervisors and team members.
• Field service experience is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Operate boilers and related equipment to heat ISO containers to required temperatures.
• Monitor system indicators such as temperature, pressure, and fuel levels and adjust gauges and controls to maintain proper and safe boiler operation.
• Perform routine and preventive maintenance, including cleaning, lubrication, part replacement, and documentation to ensure equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
• Follow all safety procedures and maintain compliance with regulatory and company standards.
• Maintain accurate logs of boiler operations, maintenance activities, and any issues, and report equipment malfunctions promptly to supervisory staff.
• Ensure ISO containers are heated uniformly, complete required quality checks, and verify containers meet specifications before dispatch.
• Communicate with supervisors, maintenance staff, and team members regarding operational needs, system status, and improvement opportunities.
• Provide recommendations to support process improvements and enhance workplace safety.
